Baking and Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions, mixing in eggs and oil until smooth.
- Pour into the pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cool, crumble the cake into fine pieces in a large bowl.
- Mix in buttercream frosting until the mixture holds together like damp sand.
Forming and Setting
- Form small balls from the mixture, about one inch in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt chocolate melts according to package instructions.
- Dip each cake ball halfway into the melted chocolate before returning them to the baking sheet.
- While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle each pop with crushed cookie crumbs and insert a gummy worm into each pop.
- Let set in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving.

Notes
For a fun twist, consider using red velvet cake or cream cheese frosting instead of the chocolate options.
