Method
Prepare the Pie Crust
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in the pie pan and set aside.
- If using a homemade crust, roll it out and fit it into the pie pan.
Make the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the corn syrup, sugar, cocoa powder, melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
Bake the Pie
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is slightly cracked.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool before slicing.
