Prepare the Noodles
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the Beef
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix the Casserole
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, beef mixture, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup. Mix well.
Assemble and Bake
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- If using, mix melted butter with bread crumbs and sprinkle over the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
