Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 8 oz egg noodles uncooked
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup sour cream full-fat
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup canned
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs optional for crunch
  • 2 tbsp butter melted for bread crumbs

Method
 

Prepare the Noodles
  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix the Casserole
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked noodles, beef mixture, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup. Mix well.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  2. If using, mix melted butter with bread crumbs and sprinkle over the cheese.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
