Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree canned or fresh
  • 1/2 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
Frosting
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, eggs, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Make the Filling
  1. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter until well combined.
Roll and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Place rolls in a greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Serve
  1. Spread frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
