Maple Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup preferably grade A for a lighter flavor
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce adds depth and umami
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar for acidity
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional, for warmth
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 2 tablespoons water to dissolve cornstarch

Method
 

Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and ground cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth.
  3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and whisk to combine.
  4. Heat the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer and thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
