  • 3 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Condiments (ketchup or spicy mayo)

Method
 

  1. Prepare ingredients by chopping jalapeños and shredding cheese.
  2. Form ground beef into four large balls (6 oz each) with a slight indentation in the center.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat; add oil if using a skillet.
  4. Smash the beef balls onto the grill until half an inch thick; cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Flip patties, top with jalapeños and cheddar cheese; cover for 2 minutes to melt cheese.
  6. Assemble burgers on buns with lettuce and tomato; add desired condiments.
