Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 medium ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 1/4 cup walnuts chopped, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  2. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
Bake the Bread
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Slice and enjoy your delicious chocolate chip banana bread!
