Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 3 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup honey preferably raw
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 2 tablespoons water to mix with cornstarch

Method
 

Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Add Broccoli
  1. Add broccoli florets to the skillet with the beef. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
Combine and Serve
  1. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  2. Serve hot over rice or noodles if desired.
