Ingredients
  

Burger Base
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey for a lighter option
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
Toppings
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
Grain Base
  • 2 cups cooked quinoa or brown rice
Dressing
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise optional

Method
 

Prepare the Burger
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
Assemble the Bowl
  1. In a large bowl, layer the cooked quinoa as the base.
  2. Add the shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and pickles on top of the quinoa.
  3. Place the cooked burger patties on top of the salad.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced avocado.
  5. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise if desired.
