Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice about 1 orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, orange juice, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Bake the Cookies
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Serve
  1. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with orange zest if desired before serving.
