- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined to avoid tough cookies.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into heart shapes.
- Place on prepared baking sheets and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Cool on wire racks before serving.
