- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
