Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Sauté onion in olive oil over medium heat until soft (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Add ground beef to the pot; brown for about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add diced tomatoes and kidney beans; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for at least 20 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Serve hot with sour cream and cheddar cheese on top.
