Ingredients
  

Fried Mushrooms
  • 1 pound Button mushrooms Cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Panko preferred for extra crunch
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil For frying
Cool Ranch Dip
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Chives Chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Mushrooms
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Dip each mushroom into the buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
Fry the Mushrooms
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the coated mushrooms in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove mushrooms and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Make the Cool Ranch Dip
  1. In a bowl, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Serve
  1. Serve the crispy fried mushrooms hot with the Cool Ranch dip on the side.

Notes
