Ingredients
  

For the Cranberry Sauce
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water
For the Oat Bars
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Cranberry Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
Make the Oat Bars
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the cooled cranberry sauce over the oat layer.
  5. Top with the remaining oat mixture and press down gently.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before cutting into bars.
