Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus more for dusting
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Make the Filling
  1. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.
  2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on top.
Roll and Bake
  1. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 8 equal pieces and place in a greased baking sheet.
  2. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
