Ingredients
  

Base
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Caramel Layer
  • 1 cup caramel candies unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
Topping
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut toasted

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Make the Caramel Layer
  1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth.
  2. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked base and spread evenly.
Add the Coconut Topping
  1. Sprinkle the toasted coconut evenly over the caramel layer.
  2. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
Cool and Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
  2. Serve and enjoy your delicious caramel coconut bars!
