  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 cup ripe tomatoes, diced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Mix gently and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, season ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into four patties about one inch thick.
  3. Heat the grill over medium-high heat while letting patties rest at room temperature.
  4. Cook patties on the grill for about four minutes per side for medium-rare doneness.
  5. During the last minute of grilling, place buns cut-side down on the grill until lightly toasted.
  6. Place each patty on a toasted bun and top generously with tomato-basil mixture.
