Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips for extra chocolate flavor
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until fully incorporated.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add Optional Ingredients
  1. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
Bake the Brownies
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Serve
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes
