Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare the Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugars
  1. In another bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
  1. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in Chocolate Chips
  1. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula.
Scoop and Bake
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Cool and Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
