Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 2 cups + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 and 1/4 cups pecan halves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cold heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 pan with cooking spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter with flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until coarse crumbs form. Press into the prepared pan and prick with a fork.
  3. Bake the crust for 18-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. For the filling, combine butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Once combined and simmering for three minutes, temper eggs by whisking in part of the hot mixture before combining everything back in the pot with pecans, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  5. Pour filling over the baked crust and bake for another 28-34 minutes until mostly set.
  6. Allow bars to cool completely before slicing.
