  • 25 ml sunflower oil
  • 500 grams flour (plus extra for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the water, sugar, and dry yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add sunflower oil to the yeast mixture, then gradually sift in the flour, stirring until combined into a sticky dough.
  3. Cover the bowl and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Gently stir the dough to release air and let rest for another 30 minutes.
  5. Shape the dough on a floured surface into your desired loaf style and place it on a lined baking tray.
  6. Preheat oven to 230°C (446°F) and make decorative slashes on top of the dough before baking for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
