  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • Optional: 1/4 cup milk for creaminess

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté for about 3-4 minutes until soft.
  4. Spread the beef mixture in a greased baking dish and layer thinly sliced potatoes on top. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the top, then pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.
