  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse beef short ribs under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, chili paste (if using), and black pepper.
  3. Marinate short ribs in the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
