Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (plus more for bread)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (plus more for bread)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, roughly chopped (optional)
  • 3/8 cup Frank's RedHot sauce
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • Ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by chilling it in the freezer for 30-45 minutes for easier slicing. Slice thinly and season with garlic powder and salt.
  2. Sauté sliced onions and jalapeños in a skillet with melted butter over medium-high heat until softened.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Butter hoagie rolls inside and sprinkle with garlic powder, then bake for 5 minutes.
  4. Increase skillet heat to high and cook seasoned chicken until browned and cooked through.
  5. Lower heat to medium, add another tablespoon of butter, and stir in Frank's RedHot sauce until chicken is well coated.
  6. Place Provolone cheese on top of the chicken mixture in the skillet until melted.
  7. Assemble sandwiches by filling hoagie rolls with the chicken mixture and topping with sautéed vegetables.
