Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef by combining it with baking soda, apple vinegar, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch in a bowl. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by whisking together oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, apple vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch until combined.
  3. Boil broccoli in salted water for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain to stop cooking.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear marinated beef for about 30 seconds per side until browned.
  5. Add minced garlic and ginger to the skillet; sauté until fragrant. Mix in boiled broccoli and stir-fry sauce; toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until well-coated.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving over rice.
