  • 1 cup warm milk (110F)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 5 1/2 cups bread flour

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and warm water and milk to 110°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, milk, sugar, and ginger. Stir until sugar dissolves, then sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  3. In another bowl, mix bread flour and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the yeast mixture while stirring until it forms a dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough gently, divide it into two portions, shape into loaves, and place in greased loaf pans.
  7. Cover the loaves again and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until doubled.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F and brush loaves with melted butter before baking for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
